Characters who do not have a great effect upon the story whatsoever. Often they may be introduced for one scene just to demonstrate a principle or an effect of whatever mechanism the story produces.
The leader is a character who leads a group or a faction of people. They don't necessarily have to be charismatic but the people they lead do have to trust him to follow him.
The loner is a character who prefers to work alone, separate from everyone else. This may be due to simple introversion or due to trauma regarding trust; however the important thing is that they work alone.
The personification is a force or a non-human entity personified. Most common in political cartoons, personifications represent the will of these forces or non-human entities. A good example would be the concept of Mother Nature.
The appointed is a character ordained by fate or any other sufficiently powerful force to perform the tasks required of them and move the story and fulfill their destiny.
The seer is a character able to predict the future and give advice based on their visions of the future. May be by means of irony blind, and are more often than not women.
The legend is a character pertaining to one who has already accomplished great deeds in the story's universe. They may or may not be alive to guide the current hero or heroes.
