Dysentery is not an illness but a condition of honey bees which happens when the bees cannot perform their mating flight due to cold weather and food supplies which contain a large proportion of indigestible ingredients.

Sacbrood virus (SBV) affects the larvae. They turn from white to black and they die before turning into pupae. They are easy to remove from the hive.

Israel acute paralysis virus (IAPV) was named after the place where it was first identified. It is considered to be strongly associated with CCD.
Acute bee paralysis virus (ABPV) or (APV) is detected in apparently healthy colonies. It plays a role in sudden collapse of honey bee colonies.
Chronic Paralysis Virus (CPV) is abnormal trembling of the wings and body. Bees are unable to fly, they just crawl in the hive or in front of it. Their abdomens can be bloated, and their wings dislocated.
