spiritual father
A spiritual father is a priest (monastic or non-monastic) in Eastern Christian tradition who serves the spiritual needs of one specific Christian. The function of the spiritual father is to help a person grow spiritually having in mind it's specific life circumstances, by hearing confessions and giving advice on spiritual and life matters in general.
