This miracle occurred two times in the Gospels; in both incidents, people who follow Christ are left without nourishment, and Christ multiplies what little is to be had, enough that even there is some food remaining. Similar miracles are reported during famines, and especially in connection to people giving what little they had to spare others from starvation.
