line 1
The grand daddy of all lines. Slow and rickety he is, but he is still faithful, taking passengers from west (Pingguoyuan) to east(Sihui East) of Beijing.
Proposed in 1953, line 1 only started running in 1969, running only 21 km from Fushouling(army barracks in the west) to the Beijing Railway Station (middle), with only 16 stops. Extended in 1999, Line 1 runs through 23 stations, 5 of them being transfers, at a length of 30.4 km.
