The quintessential coordinated market economy(CME) is often seen as Germany and is characterized by its long-term industrial finance, cooperative industrial relations, high levels of vocational training, and cooperation in technology and standard setting across companies. The CME traits of the behavior of firms and their systemic feedback in nations such as Germany, Sweden, or Switzerland is a key component of how they retain their remarkable competitiveness and yield a large amount of power to labor during the time of recession in comparison to Britain and the US.
