Council of Judges of Ukraine

The Council of Judges of Ukraine is the highest body of judicial self-government in Ukraine, which acts between congresses of judges of Ukraine. According to Article 127 of the Law of Ukraine on Judicial System and Status of Judges, The Council of Judges of Ukraine is elected by The Congress of Judges of Ukraine and comprises eleven judges.

The Council of Judges takes measures regarding securing of independence of courts and judges, improvement of organizational provision of activities of courts; it addresses the questions of legal and social protection of judges and their families, and exercises control over organization of judicial activity.

The Council of Judges appoints the Chairman of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine and its Deputies.
