A bomb exploded outside lobby of JW Marriot Hotel, in total 12 people were killed and 150 were injured - mostly Indonesian.

The reason they chose Marriot was because the hotel was owned and a symbol of Western not only that, Marriot had been used by US embassy for various events.

Again, the bombing was prepared by no other than Al-Qaeda and Jemaah Islamiyah, the official mentioned that one of the components of the bomb were exactly the same as the one used in Bali bombings.
