A timed race were the skier has to navigate through a set course of gates in the fastest time possible. There are different events within ski racing such as Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super G, and Downhill. Each event has its own requirements for the set course. Some of the requirements would be how much distance is in between the gates and how many turns must the course have in it.
