Mario Götze (born 3 June 1992) is a German footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga and the German national team.

In April 2013, a €37 million bid from Bayern Munich triggered a release clause in Götze's contract, making Götze the second-most expensive German player to date, behind Mesut Özil.

In 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying Götze contributed four goals.
