Lake of Puigcerda

Lake of Puigcerda was named after the capital of Catalan county that divides France and Spain Countries with a dominated serge river. The Puigcerda Lake has many spectacular attractions like its artificial lake that is surrounded by black poplars and the buildings of ancient architectures that existed half of 13th century near Schierbeck Park and it’s an ideal place for tourist and recreation sporting events.

The Puigcerda Lake environment is very appreciating with a surrounding that gives in the aromatic air from the natural parks that has an altitude of 1200 meters above the sea level. Alfonso El Casto founded this place before it became more stable and populated; it’s believed it was a Roman’s Villa in the region during ancient periods that was called Oppidum Ceretanum that refers as a Puigcerda. Puigcerda Lake is a man-made lake with an approximate of 2.28 ha and it collects water from the river Querol for Agricultural purposes.
