Laddu
Laddu (also pronounced as Laddoo; Sanskrit word transliterated as ladduka or lattika meaning a small ball) is a ball shaped South Asia dessert made from gram flour, combined with sugar and other flavorings, cooked in ghee . It is widely believed to originate from the Mithilanchal region of Bihar, India during the times of Chandragupt Maurya.
Laddu is often prepared for festivals or family events such as weddings, birthdays, or just served as a sweet dish after dinners.
One special class of Laddu in particular is Motichoor Laddu which is made from fine boondi(tiny sweetened, fried chickpea flour balls, in red and green colors) , molded in small balls and cooked in ghee.
