doughnuts
A doughnut is made from a sweet yeast dough it can be either fried or baked. The classic doughnut is fried, filled with strawberry jam and rolled in granulated sugar but there are many variations around the world with some containing fruit and in different shapes.
In Belguim and the Netherlands a doughnut called Oliebollen is made which are traditionally served on New Years Eve. Churros are made in Spain and are piped and fried they are served with coffee or chocolate while in the USA they make a bar doughnut which is has a Maple glaze with bacon pieces they can also be filled with cream.
