A coriolis storm is a violent type of wind on the planet Arrakis from the fictional Dune universe. It is a major storm in which the winds across the open deserts can reach speeds of up to 700 kilometers per hour. It is said that the sand moved by the Coriolis storm can peel the flesh from the bones.
