The Baron Vladimir Harkonnen is a fictional character and antagonist from the Dune universe created by Frank Herbert. Until he is defeated by the Fremen forces of Paul Muad'Dib, and killed by Paul's sister Alia, he is the head of the House Harkonnen, rulers of the planet Giedi Prime.
