Trial and error learning
A form of associative learning. Trial and error learning occurs when an animal connects its own behaviour with a particular environmental response. If the response has a positive reinforcement, or it is favourable to the animal, the animal will repeat the behaviour in order to receive the same response again, possibly to receive a reward. If the response is unfavorable, such as causing pain, the animal will avoid the behavior.
