(1) A set of host language statements and SQL statements that is processed by an SQL precompiler.
(2) A set of instructions that are written in a programming language and must be translated into machine language before the programme can be run.
(3) In communications, the programme that starts a session with a remote system. See also target program.
(4) In DB2 for i5/OS, the source in an i5/OS source file member used to create an SQL program.
