Luminous flux

A) The time rate of flow of light. b) The time rate of flow of radiant energy evaluated in terms of a standardised visual response.

Unless otherwise indicated, the luminous flux is defined for photopic vision.

The unit of flux is the lumen: the luminous flux emitted within unit solid angle by a point source having an isotropic luminous intensity of 1 candela.
