A) The process of getting a television signal from point to point; also the process of getting a television signal from the point at which it was last processed to the viewer. See also Contribution. b) The delivery of a completed programme to distribution-nodes for emission/transmission as an electrical waveform, or transportation as a physical package, to the intended audiences. Preparation for distribution is the last step of the production cycle. Typical distribution-nodes include: release and duplicating laboratories, satellite systems, theatrical exchanges, television networks and groups, cable systems, tape and film libraries, advertising and programme agencies, educational systems, government services administration, etc.
