Boundary node identifier (BNI)
The MAC address that identifies a subarea boundary node as the source or destination of frames carried over the portion of a BAN connexion between the boundary node and the boundary access node (BAN). All frames sent by a BAN to the boundary node have their destination MAC address set to the BNI, and all frames sent by a boundary node to a BAN have their source MAC address set to the BNI.
