zone time
Standard time applied at sea in which the surface of the globe is divided into 24 zones of 15 degrees , or of 1 h, each. The "0 zone" extends 7.5 degrees east and west of the meridian of Greenwich (England), (the Prime Meridian); the zones are designated by the number of hours that must be applied to the local time to obtain Greenwich time.
