tin minerals
Virtually all the industrial supply of tin comes from cassiterite, SnO2, though a little has been won from the sulfides stannite, cylindrite, and franckeite. Bulk of cassiterite comes from alluvial workings. Main market is in tin plating, tin foil, solders, bearing metals, bronze and other alloys, and such salts as opacifiers and dye mordants.
