tape library
(1) A device that includes a selection of cartridges in a common (secure) area within access of one or more automated removable media (ARM).
(2) A set of equipment and facilities that support an installation's tape environment. The tape library can include tape storage racks, a set of tape drives, and a set of related tape volumes mounted on those drives.
