symmetry
Symmetry is close agreement in size, shape, and position of parts that are on opposite sides of a dividing line or center : an arrangement involving regular and balanced proportions. In photography, symmetry is when the left and right sides and top and bottom of your frame are the same and balanced by their opposites. When using symmetry in photography, one should aim for an even distribution of weight, which may mean size, shape, or color. With symmetry, for every element you place on one side of the frame, place something of similar weight directly across on the opposite side. Synonyms of symmetry: balance, coherence, concinnity, consonance, consonancy, orchestration, proportion, harmony, symphony and unity.
