styrene
Chemical formula C8H8, also commonly called vinyl benzene. Styrene is an aromatic hydrocarbon originating from petroleum and natural gas by-products. It is used to manufacture resilient, lightweight packaging materials and fiberglass. Styrene is extremely volatile in air and evaporates quickly; as a result, it does not remain in the atmosphere for long periods of time.
