social inclusion
This refers to the process that ensures that those at risk of poverty and social exclusion have the opportunities and resources necessary to participate in economic and social life, securing a standard of living that is considered acceptable in the society in which they live. It also ensures that they have greater participation in decision-making that affects their lives and access to their fundamental rights. Through such a process vulnerable groups are granted access to education, training, employment, commodation, collective services, and health assistance. A social inclusion programme can take place either in the country of origin or in that of destination.
