Typical oil- or gas-well slurries have densities of 1380 kg/m³ to 2280 kg/m³ (11. 5 lbm/gal to 19. 0 lbm/gal), although special techniques, such as foamed cementing and particle-size distribution cementing, extend this range to 840 kg/m³ to 2760 kg/m³ (7 lbm/gal to 23 lbm/gal).
