salic horizon
A mineral soil horizon of enrichment with secondary salts more soluble in cold water than gypsum. A salic horizon is 15 cm or more in thickness, contains at least 20 g kg-1salt, and the product of the thickness in centimeters and amount of salt by weight is >600 g kg-1.
