This slippery term, which ostensibly refers to an era succeeding modernism, is philosophically allied with poststructuralism, deconstruction, radical scepticism and relativism - with which it shares an anti-foundationalist stance. Ironically postmodernism could almost be defined in terms of resisting definition.
