A team is offside if at anytime there are less than four of its players on the defensive side of the field, or also if a team has fewer than three players on the offensive side of the field. If when a goal is scored the defending team is offside the goal is allowed. However, if the team on offense scores a goal but is offside, then the goal is disallowed and the ball is given to the defensive team.
