linseed
Also known as flax.
Linseed is a type of plant whose seeds are often used as an egg-replacer in vegan and egg-free baking as they can produce a gel that has a consistency not unlike that of an egg.
Linseed is also nutritionally valuable as it contains high levels of omega-3 fatty acids.
The seeds come in two varieties: brown or golden.
