The degree of resistance of dyed textile materials to the color-destroying influence of sunlight. Two methods of testing are in use:

(1) exposure to sunlight, either directly or under glass, and

(2) accelerated testing in a laboratory apparatus equipped with any of several types of artificial light sources.
