focal point
The focal point is the exact point at which the camera is focused at maximum sharpness. When looking into the viewfinder, it is usually marked in the center with either a circle or a set of brackets. The focal point should be placed at the subject of the photograph. By selecting a focal point, the photographer will be able to inform his or her viewers of what they are supposed to be looking at. Moreover, the focal point determines how far from the photographer’s camera the focal plane is placed. The focal plane is a flat area that is parallel to a digital sensor of a camera which intersects with the focal point. The further an element is from a focal plane, the more blurry it will appear in a photograph.
