The amount of hazardous material allowed to be stored, used, or handled in a control area as set forth in NFPA 1, Fire Code, and NFPA5000, Building Construction and Safety Code. The exempt amount per control area is based on the material state (solid, liquid, or gas) and the material storage or use conditions.
