National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)
Part of the National Foundation on the Arts and Humanities. Created in 1965, it provides grant funding to American individuals and organizations in visual, literary and performing arts. In addition, it promotes arts institutions, works to make the arts accessible to more Americans and helping establish the arts as an important aspect of education.
