Leo Tolstoy
(1828-1910) is a Russian writer and philosopher, one of the most known Russian authors abroad, a representative of the realist trend in literature; his novels and fictional work include "War and Peace", "Anna Karenina", "Resurrection", etc.
Being a count by birth, Tolstoy decided to spent his last days as a common man. In order to do so he tried to get rid of his family estate in Yasnaya Polyana and do peasant work.
Leo Tolstoy died at the age of 82, leaving a wife and seven children.
