Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA)

A group of laws passed by Congress in 1938 giving authority to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to oversee the safety of food, drugs, and cosmetics, which includes a law that controls pesticide residues in food and feed, along with the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).
