FMSY
The fishing mortality rate that, if applied constantly, would result in maximum sustainable yield (MSY). Used as a biological reference point, FMSY is the implicit fishing mortality target of many regional and national fishery management authorities and organizations. FMSY can be estimated in two ways: a) from simple biomass-aggregated production models; b) from age-structured models that include a stock-recruitment relationship.
