Schmidt joined Google in March 2001, and he became the Google's CEO in August 2001.

But on January 2011, he stepped down as a CEO of Google but he will continue to be the executive chairman.

Acting as Executive Chairman in Google, he helps Larry Page (Founder) and Sergey Brin (Co-founder) in taking care of external matter as well as building business partnerships and broadening business relationship.
