Beijing's Hutongs
A type of narrow street or alley formed by the traditional courtyard residences of Beijing. A good place to start is off of Nanluoguxiang on line 6 (Exit A turn right and then cross the street). Meandering back through here will provide shops and food galore just be sure to turn left once you hit the main cross street to see Beijing's Drum and Bell towers. A nice cool place to rest is just around the corner at Houhai, a lake lined with shady trees and welcoming restaurants.
