Badel Pelinkovac

Pelinkovac is a bitter liqueur based on wormwood (Croatian: pelin or pelen), popular in Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, as well as in Slovenia, where it is known as pelinkovec or pelinovec. The alcohol content is 28%-35% by volume. It has a very bitter taste, resembling that of Jägermeister.

The Badels' pelinkovac is closer to the taste of Jägermeister, but a little sweeter and less bitter.

Badel Pelinkovac is produced according to a traditional maceration method where selected curative herbs, with the dominant herb Pelin (lat. Artemisia Absinthium), are soaked in basic liquid and after that left to age in wooden barrels. The herbs release their most valuable characteristics by aging for several weeks. A part of the produced macerate is distilled in coppers and finally the distillate and the macerate are blended into Badel Pelinkovac.
