The corners and flow of the dominant lines are important considerations to keep in mind when arranging and composing still lifes. A dominant line does not always need to be at the center of attention to have a strong effect on the composition of an image. For example, a fallen tree in an image anchors the lower right corner of the image. It also forms the lower part of an implied angle. Many of the best images show that street photographers frequently contend with lines by using dominant and subtle lines to good effect and minimizing the disruptive effects of extraneous dominant lines. When viewing works in this genre, it is highly recommended that you evaluate how dominant and subtle lines factor into the effectiveness of the image.
