Charlie Chaplin

Born on April 16th 1889, Charlie Chaplin became a well-know icon, especially for his work in silent films and for his use of mime and slapstick comedy.

One of Chaplin's most famous role was that of "The Tramp," a vagrant dressed in baggy pants, big shoes, with a hat and derby cane, sporting a mustache. The Tramp appeared in many short films in 1914 and 1915.

Aside from acting, Chaplin also wrote, directed and produced films. Additionally, he also composed and wrote songs, such as "Smile" and "This is My Song".

Chaplin died in 1977 in Switzerland.
