Ein aromatischer Kohlenwasserstoff, verwendet als gemeinsame industrielle Lösungsmittel, auch benannt Dimethylbenzol; existiert als 3 Isomere: m-Xylol, o-Xylol und p-Xylol. Xylol wird in der Regel aus Erdöl und Erdgas Destillate gewonnen. Es in Lack, Gummi und Lederindustrie und auch als eine Säuberung Agent oder Entfettungsmittel verwendet wird.
