En klasse af phosphorforbindelser produceret ved reaktion mellem enten vandfri ammoniak eller kaliumhydroxid med pyrophosphoric syre (H4P2O7). Pyrophosphoric acid er et kondensation produkt af to molekyler af orthophosphorsyre (H3PO4). De vigtigste polyphosphate arter i polyphosphate gødningsstoffer.
