isopropanol
En simpel alkohol (C 3 H 7 OH) anvendes som opløsningsmiddel i nogle mudder analyser. En 50/50 xylen/IPA blanding blev brugt i fortid som en emulsion breaker til olie mudder men er blevet erstattet med propylenglycol normale propyl ether (PNP).
