A function that protects data by duplicating all disc data in an auxiliary storage pool (ASP) to another disc unit (mirrored unit) in the same ASP. If a disc failure occurs, the system keeps running, using the operational mirrored unit of the mirrored pair until the disc unit is repaired or replaced.
