yarnover

A yarnover creates a new stitch. You simply wrap the yarn around your right needle and then continue knitting as before. Done!

The big difference between an added stitch by knitting or purling and a yarnover is that you create a "hole". Lace patterns are worked by combining yarnovers with knit-together stitches. Do not use several yarnovers right next to each other as the work will become very loose.
