Suđaje ("those who doom") are three powerful beings that visit a child soon after it is born to determine it's fate. The oldest suđaja is is most evil; she desires child's death. The middle sudjaja is also evil but settles on bodily deformities. The youngest sudjaja is the most noble and desires long life and happy marriage for the child. In the end, the three sudjaje settle on the middle solution. There are a lot of rites to appease these three witches.
