chronic heartburn
Known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a burning sensation that is usually centered around the middle of the chest near the sternum. Chronic heartburn is caused by the reflux of acidic stomach fluids that enter the lower end of the esophagus. Also called acid reflux, and cardialgia.
Chronic Hearburn is known to increase the risk of esophageal cancer if left untreated.
